It begins with a dream—a dream born in childhood, from a young man who, beyond admiring the natural beauty of his homeland, felt a deep desire to share it with the world.
The First Steps of a Calling
From a very young age, the founder of La Fortuna Travels showed a strong interest in tourism. His curiosity led him to explore hidden trails, observe how the tourism industry worked in his community, and develop a unique sensitivity to the visitor’s experience. This interest led him to make a pivotal decision in 2011: to study Ecological Tourism. It was not a random choice, but a firm step toward a clear purpose—to prepare himself to one day create a company that would offer authentic, sustainable, and unforgettable experiences.
A Decade of Learning
After completing his studies, the founder understood that, in order to provide travelers with a comprehensive experience, he needed to gain firsthand knowledge of all areas within the tourism sector. Thus began an intense decade of practical training, working across three key areas: hospitality, tours, and transportation.
He first entered the hospitality industry, where he learned the importance of customer service, hospitality, and attention to detail. Later, he joined a tour operator, gaining valuable experience in logistics, experience design, and the power of connecting travelers with local culture and nature. Finally, he ventured into the tourism transportation sector, where he came to understand the importance of punctuality, safety, and comfort in a seamless travel experience.
Over the course of these ten years, in addition to gaining operational experience, he dedicated himself to analyzing market behavior, studying emerging trends in sustainable tourism, and listening carefully to travelers in order to anticipate their needs and deliver real, thoughtful solutions.
